| About Frenchboro The town has a year-round population of about 50 people. In the summer, the number of residents climbs above 100. The island also attracts quite a few folks who explore the island on day trips. Located about 8 miles from the mainland off Mount Desert Island, Frenchboro also has a school and a church. It has no stores and has only a seasonal dockside deli that is usually open for July and August. |
